You were all very helpful. Connection on rear indicator sorted.
thanks everyone. Checked all lights today and that rear indicator light is working ok now but still flicks fast when foot on break. Sounds like it is an earth problem so as van in having job done tomorrow we will get them to look at it then. Beter it went now than when we are over the chanel?
Will let you know what diagnosis is
|igglepiggle||it is earth same as on my renault car back light it is on the connection points|
|tattytony||It is the EARTH at fault|
Definitely an earthing fault, get someone to check and you will probably find your brake lights are also flashing dim/bright with the indicators.
|bradleypark||I go with Clive in saying it is an earthing fault, so once bulbs and their connections in the holder have been checked- sometimes the bulbs get a build up of muck between them and the holder which breaks the contact. If that dosn't cure the problem start looking at the connections between the lamp and the chassis.|
Maybe EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) is activating as that forces harzard on rapid flash?
No idea if your van has them mind, nor no idea if its related. But maybe!

|Mick757||Id say there was more to it than just a bulb gone, if they are all flashing once the brake is applied. Im guessing theres some terminals touching in the light unit - possibly initially blowing said bulb.|
