ps I am getting better every day, the graph has turned upwards.
I did think about the famine village Alan but I'm not yet ready to mix with people to that extent. I was surprised to see no mention of covid whatsoever on their website.

Great news that your health is improving!!

Yes, he did repent - tho it was strange that he BECAME a slaver after becoming a Christian. It was later he realised the 2 weren't compatible. But he was a great encouragement to William Wilberforce in the 20yr-long battle to end the slave trade. So I'm not sure where history will place him.

erneboy Mr Newton was a slaver.

I had read about him but didn't know about Lough Swilly.

Even though they seem a bit 'dipsy' , although that might be an act , I find the Travel troll daily blog to be compulsive watching . They did a really good review of The Famine Village, near Malin Head , which I agree with . Yes thats what I meant but if a delivery service is available either from the GP or chemist you wont need to go out. We had volunteers delivering prescriptions all over the Dales in Lockdown. I remember ringing up for some tablets worrying about how I would get them as the GP is 7 miles away and they were here two hours later on the doorstep.

jiwawa Oh, I see what you mean Barry - that I'd be stuck without meds cos I'm in lockdown when I get back? No, I can still move around within my area so my chemist is a 10 min walk from home.

jiwawa Not from Belfast to Buncrana Barry!

barryd Looks a nice place Jean.

As for medicine if you are on lock down will the GP not deliver it? That certainly happened here in the lock down.

jiwawa Sorry, I said Bundoran in original post - it's Buncrana! I may have been on the road too long!

And I just realised today that I've only a week n a half or so left as I didn't bring a limitless supply of meds.

And when I go back I might be stuck for a while as my home is in a lockdown area. Boohoo!!

I just saw the word Aire and assumed!! Aire being a french word of course for Area. They should call them something else in Ireland. Worrabout "limistéar" or even "Limistear ag campáil carr"? To be sure yes it is no it isnt.
It is indeed in Donegal, in Buncrana. I think they called it an aire but I may be wrong. It's beside the lovely Amazing Grace gardens one way and a beach the other. Walks to the local castle n they've made quite a bit of Mr Newton who wrote Amazing Grace. Apparently he'd been a foul-mouthed sailor before being caught in a storm that nearly cost the ship until he found his way to safe anchor in Lough Swilly.
