Where has this theory about vehicle insurance being invalid if you travel against FCO advice?? If itís not detailed in your insurance policy then you are fine.
Your vehicle insurance will not be affected by any Covid restrictions or if you travel contrary to FCO advice. If that WAS the case then anyone abroad when FCO advice changes wouldnít be insured would they? And thatís certainly NOT the case.
HOWEVER many holiday health insurance policies will not cover you for health issues if you travel contrary to FCO advice. Some will cover you for health issues not connected to Covid, but not all.
I find it very hard to believe that vehicle breakdown cover would be affected for the simple reason that vehicles are not susceptible to Covid!
Never ever trust a telephone conversation, always get it in writing
Can't help with that Stephen but I'm wondering if you have travel insurance? That might cover costs if you have to cancel due to FO advice - tho I believe only if you took it out before such advice was put in place.
But maybe you intend going anyway?
Good luck with it, and also, welcome to the forum.
Breakdown insurance in Europe
Hi With ref to breakdown Ins in the naughty countries ie France Spain Belgium Netherlands etc as anyone been told they have not got cover when transiting through those countries. I ask because it seems that the CAMC Red Pennant breakdown policy is not operative in those countries ref foreign office advice, this is according to one there representatives yesterday. I cant believe that they are curtailing this service when it seems there are no problems with other providers. With ref to the Motorhome vehicle insurance I am also querying the position on this with them I feel I can not trust them anyone and we are supposed to leave on the 31st Aug. Any advice would be appreciated
