raynipper Is the van new to you Robert?
Maybe a previous owner wired the fridge to the engine battery as that could be a 20 amp load.

Mrplodd Pulling a starter battery down THAT quickly requires a fair amount of current to be drawn. Something like the headlights (if they are Halogen not LED) Its certainly not the radio or alarm doing it.

raynipper Don't suppose you can pull all 12v fuses and see if there is any drain? If not replace the fuses one by one till you find the culprit.

shercat Assuming you have a multimeter, this youtube video on battery drain should set you in the right direction.

battery drain 94ducato

If I leave the main vehicle battery connected for more than an hour the battery is drained to an extent it wont start the camper.
There is a large spark when I connect the battery, the spark is smaller when I disconnect the red wire that feeds the headlight switch. This wire is on a multi connection connector just above the battery.
has anyone come across this before? what did you find?
I'm contemplating dismantling behind the steering column and disconnecting wires until the battery drain disappears.

Where is best to look for a wiring diagram for both the fiat ducato base vehicle and the Eldis 270 motorhome?

The voltage display in the back is strange that it shows voltage on battery 1 and 2 even when one of them is disconnected, this might be related I don't know.
