Donít think you need vignette Jean
But itís pretty hard to avoid toll roads, at least we found it so
We didnít really do a lot in Slovenia ,mainly we were passing through on route
We visited lake bled, could have really been any commercialised lake
If we went again I think we would travel faster and spend more time in Croatia visiting the islands
It's really odd - I've found a website about the vignette but it's somewhat confusing. You need a vignette on motorways and expressways - will my satnav keep me off expressways if I tell it to keep me off motorways? I guess I can get round that by keeping off toll-roads.
There's text which says mass not exceeding 3500Kg but the accompanying pic says >=3.5T.

I've 3 months. I have to be near Zadar 21st May, then make my way back to Cherbourg from 1-16th June so I'm thinking not too much time then to mosey around Slovenia, Hungary etc as I'd hoped..... So maybe concentrate on that before going in to Croatia, rather than thro Italy.....Decisions, decisions.
It's good to hear the inner route is also interesting.
I'd been looking at your 2016 trip to Croatia Sandra (was it really that long ago??) and I reckon you took about 18 days going down the coast, and possibly less than a week coming up? If I was doing both legs I'd probably take about a month at it.
And yes, my current MH is <3.5T and I generally stay off motorways.
I doubt Jean would need a go box , I donít think sheís over 3.5 ,we just passed through Austria, no toll roads, just the tunnel toll to pay
Stopped off at Innsbruck on the way back, regular bus from the campsite, bit of a long walk from the bus terminus to old Innsbruck
Germany is a bit of a hike though if you are just passing through on route
We meandered down the coast rd along side the Adriatic to Dubrovnik
Loads of small campsites next to the sea , most of them filled with permanent regulars, but always room for one or two more , and we were made welcome, the sea is literally on your doorstep
Just watch the gradient down , you have to get back up
And fortunately when we were struggling a lorry driver from a near by building site made short work of it , and rather handsome he was too , I digress
As mike says the short hop through Bosnia is not worth concerning yourself about
Returned the inland route, quicker but still interesting , although bears andwolves were in short supply in spite of the warning posters
The people were lovely, the sea magnificent ,itís just a long way by motorhome
You will love it Jean
Thanks for the information Mike and Don - my goodness, there's a lot of travel in that blog!! I look forward to reading more of it.
How are you doing Don? Time has a habit of disappearing, but have you got over your fall?
Jean you will find some very useful info on this site, it's a bit dated but it should give you some ideas.
