SkY TI 700 Water Pump

Can anyone advise me how to access and replace the water pump in our 2013 SKY TI 700 please? Now the warrenty has expired I would like to start doing minor maintenace jobs myself. I have the correct Knaus replacement pump.

Are wiring diagrams available? An itemised drawing of the fuse and junction box would be helpful for future fault finding.

The water pump works normally but has become noisey so I will change it as a precaution. Thus far, 16,000 miles, the motorhome has been a model of reliability.

Thank you

Hi Roger and welcome to MHF, if you can find the pump it should/might be fairly obvious once you get up close and personal with it, it might only be that the mounting needs tightening, so check that before removing it, the electrical connections should be right next to it, they usually are.

As for wiring diagrams, I suggest contacting the manufacturers.

Hi Roger from another Roger!,

I have the same m/h, of the same year - with the same challenge!

The original pump was a Barwig (which has gone very intermittent and occasionally squeals); tomorrow I intend to replace with a Reich 22L/min, 1.8bar replacement.

Question is how to get the Barwig pump out? Three options I can see so far: (1) Cut a neat access hole under the 12v fuse box and try to access the water connector that way: (2) Untighten and try to displace the shelf with all the 12v/240v electrics attached: (3) Try to unplug the pump riser from the red elbow inside the tank, softening the plastic delivery hose with a hot air gun.

Option (1) is current favourite. Any thoughts or successes (and failures?) appreciated, Cheers.

Yes I did reply 17-02-2016.

Re pump Roger

I do not think it would have been designed to need cutting holes anywhere, pump pack up so there will be access, you jsut need to follow every pipe through every cupboard and locker, it may be even under the floor of the van

Hi,

Thanks for the thoughts. In the end I went for option (2) in my original posting and found that with a few MDF panels removed (all TORX screwed but in three sizes!) and the 12v/240v electrics shelf moved slightly to one side I could access and check the connections (all found good) - and then the water outlet pipe and red outlet elbow, and 12v pump feed cable.

The new replacement Reich pump is now installed and all the panels replaced - pumping performance not only restored but IMPROVED.

Cheers, Roger
