Thanks for your responses. I have putchased the Flamma extendable section which should do the trick.
When I fitted mine, due to the fact that the electric bike we had at the time was much heavier at the rear than at the front. I offset the extended channel to try and center the weight on the rack. You need to make sure the bike doesn't sitck out beyond the bodywork though.

Penquin extend the gutter by buying another one and then pop rivetting a 45cm length to one end to give you the required 5 cm extension (only make it 10cm for ease and stability).

Have a look here;

https://www.leisureshopdirect.com/ca...-bike-supports

they do an extending one which goes to 161cm for around £33.00 - would that be long enough?

Matchlock Bloody hell a tandem, did they have to buy a wide load sign?

pagey ok how about cutting the rail in the middle and inserting a piece of steel or aluminium and redrilling the holes on the rail so you can refit the rail on the original holes if this makes sense or if you dont require all 4 rails remove one of them and cut a piece out of it and do the above i did my friends so he could take a tandem with him

Omnistor Cycle Rack gutter not long enough for electric bike

I have an Omnistor cycle rack on the back of my Motorhome. It has the capacity to carry 4 bikes and there is no problem wth my mountain bike.
I recently purchased an electric bike for my wife. The frame is long and whilst I can tether one of the wheels in the gutter, the other wheel hangs off the edge, so tight vertical tethering with a strap cannot be achieved. As a result the bike moves during trips and is not as secure as I would wish.
If the gutter was another 2” longer I would not have this problem.
Does anyone know of a fix? I have googled to see if a longer channel or an extension is available to replace or add to one of the existing gutters but cannot find such a product.
Many thanks in advance for your comments.
