aldra Ignore her

Sheís biased

Iím probabally over the top because of my childhood and adolescence

At 16/18 I became an adult, set alone in a world I had no knowledge of

Nursing gave me some structure , a place to live

19 came Albert

And the rest was history

Except I remain a belligerent so and so

And I fight my corner, as I had to all my life

And to be fair I expect my kids and grandkids to fight theirs

And as in the midrash, when God surveyed his disobedient children and pronounced

My people have overcome me

I feel the same

No they donít, they are self opinionated , beligerant lot

Where they get it from I have no idea

Must be from Albert

Donít for one minute think this mother / grandmother is all sweetness and light

She cooks a good meal, fact

But she gives them a good run for their money, doesnít agree on many things fact

And if they need time to practise living alone when we are away , providing they are old enough

Well why not ?

And they learn , and I donít need to say I told you so

Why would I

They already have learnt that

Sandra

Do bears sh** in the woods??? Do ducks wear flip-flops in a veld fire??? Hohoho! Even I get mothered at Sandra's and what a privilege!!! Lucky family. They just don't know how blessed they are, but they will one day!

Gas, electric unused

To be fair itís been older grandkids and they havenít managed to remove the large quantities of washing / drying / pizza boxes in time

And thatís without looking at the wooden floors

Still itís always good to be home

Great to see those grandkids again

They now have their own homes, so we see them less

As we should as the live their own lives

So the next generation are on the way up

So I guess more washing/ drying/ pizza boxes to come

If we we live long enough for them to practise self sufficiency in our home

Sandra

That sounds like a contradiction of terms, the way you 'Mother' your family.

Maybe you were being sardonic

GMJ It's people insurance I am after. The American Express policy is great for up to 31 days but to upgrade to a policy that allowed 60 day trips cost another £300

The MH is covered for trips up to 60 days.

The house insurance I need to renew when we move anyway but I can always get friends to stay for the odd night or two when we are away so that the clock is reset if there is a 30 day clause.

nicholsong When Insurers talk about trips are they talking about people or the MH, as we frequently leave the MH and fly back, so our trips are shorter than the MH ones?

Also with house insurance is the trip limitation for the time the named insurer is away or for the time the property is vacant? In our case the whole property, on one insurance policy, is on two floors with two 'families' occupying and as we are all never away together I suppose the question does not arise, unless it applies to the 'Insured' Basia being away, even if the property is still occupied.

GMJ I just renewed our travel insurance with American Express for the 6th year in a row.. for the mighty cost of £53.85 (and it covers Mrs GMJs asthma and MS). In fact the premium is exactly the same as last year

We claimed £1500 off them for a failed holiday 5 years ago and they didn't put the premium up at all the following year either...major result!!

They don't cover trips on this policy for longer than 31 days however so I'll just have to shop around and get a 60 day policy in place as a one off for the Spain trip next January.
