|HermanHymer||I've had an AEG version of such a pot for some time. Cost me R699 (i.e £30-ish). It's very good - does low pressure, high pressure, brown, saute, simmer and keep warm. Great for oxtail, soup, stew, beans, mince, anything that you'd use a slow cooker for, except it's the opposite. Recommended, although I'd stick to a known brand name as you might need spares, e.g. new lid seal. My last pressure cooker, a stove top one, I had for more than 30 years. Now it gets used as a regular BIG pot for cooking hams, pasta, etc etc. without pressure of course.|

NOW I understand, I didn’t realise the term “Instant pot” was being applied to what is basically an electric pressure cooker.
The newspapers have been full of this electric "Pressure Cooker" for weeks. I thought someone somewhere would have bought one.
Cost from Amazon is around £79.99.
