If you are only using it on the drive at home can't you just fit a splitter in the home aerial cable somewhere outside the house and run an extension aerial lead in through one of the windows.
Seen several lately with domestic antennas on a pole hooked up to the bike rack. That is also what we have. It's not cool looking but works probably as good or better than most anything and the cost is next to nothing.
For the pole I use an extendable aluminum paint roller pole.
I don't want to put anything permanent on the van, nor do I want a pole, although that would be useful.
I've been wondering about domestic indoor aerials, anyone used one in the van, any good?
I updated to a Status directional.
Bought on EBay...sold the old one on EBay...only cost a few pounds overall.
Just had a quick look and it doesn't look promising these days
A lot of people wouldn't agree with you if you refer to the Avtex Omni? I have never used one so cannot really comment other than it should be no worse than any other Omni. If you just want an aerial to use at home why not buy an ordinary domestic directional aerial and stick it on a pole?
|nickkdx||Another vote for the Avtex aerial, we use one when we've got no satellite signal.|
|ThePrisoner||Have a look at the avtex aerials. We have one and have had absolutely great result with it.|
TV Aerial for the MH
Just bought a new 12v freeview PVR for the van and I'm considering doing some recording in the van when on the drive.
The van has the flying saucer type Status thing, which is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
So looking for a sensibly priced replacement, it'll only be used on the drive so not needed on trips.
