Home called Hovis | Thanks for the information, I had tried everything I could think of but in the end taking off the steering wheel showed me the wear and tear inside the steering coloum. One of the copper plates had snapped off and the brass band was worn out so I filled the voids with solder now it works a treat. I'll put it on YouTube. Thanks again. |

ray. No; on the Mark 2 (X230/X244) Ducatos there is just one wire and spade connector attached to the underside of the central horn boss. See my "how to" guide above. |

Pull the cover off where your horn is on the steering wheel, there are two wires with connectors that go on some metal strips that make the circuit when pressed, one of those might have worked loose with the vibration, I had the same problem on my van, pushed the clip back on and nipped it tighter with some pliers, this cured the problem. ray. |

I suggest before you pull the wheel off that you check that there is current reaching the horn.It is often placed where it can gather plenty of road dirt and rain.Now you have seen a picture of one it should be easier to find. cabby |

And make sure you leave the nut partly on till the wheel comes free otherwise you may well break your nose. I know The Nomad already said that but it's worth repeating, a low flying steering wheel up the kite is an eye watering experience. |
