Yes, pleased to say it passed, and can confirm no bribe asked for or given.
Many thanks for all the replies
Re: Rear suspension on Adria Twin
See page 13 ' The Knowledge' of the attached VOSA document 'Matters for Testing' that was issued to MOT testers in May 2011.
I had the same....but decided to fit air suspension and it makes a world of difference
But my layout has all the weight to the rear plus tow.....
Thanks for the reply, I have already found the thread on outandaboutlive, it's very comprehensive and knowledgeable.
As always in these situations, best to get as much input as possible and where better than from the members of MHF.
Do a search on the outandaboutlive web site as there is a thread on there which quotes all you need to know about the subject and even copies the guidance to MOT inspectors.
The rubber conical so called "bump stops" are indeed spring assistors and are designed to touch the springs. Your vehicle should not have failed.
Rear suspension on Adria Twin
Hello all, not been on here for a while, been too busy using the freedom machine.
After a bit of advice as usual, just had an MOT done on our 57 plate Adria and was told by tester that rear leaf springs are resting on the bump stops and should have failed MOT.
Googled the issue and on another forum a lengthy thread mirrored the issue. It went on to explain that Fiat call the "bump stops" "spring assisters" and the set up is designed to work that way.
Got underneath and sure enough there is absolutely no clearance between "spring assister" and axle.
Anybody have more information or thoughts/experiences.
