Hi Ray
Weíre both fine thanks, keeping away from people as much as possible, staying on a site near Lowestoft November and December and the moving to another site 15 miles down road for January and February both do cheap long stay deals.

raynipper Thanks again John.
I have hesitated on joining the 'streaming' revolution and have only succumbed while going to Portugal. I doubt we will use it or seek more content on our return thanks.
hid is more than happy with all the film channels we have now as she can always find an old B&W classic that she has views 50 times and sends me out of the room.

But I will pm just to gain knowledge thanks.

Ray.

eurajohn Ray I know you are somewhat careful with what you spend .
If you are prepared to actually shell out a reasonable amount there are devices available to buy with a subscription that only needs an internet connection to get access to films old and new including many 2020 release ones, including TV content from UK and almost worldwide.

If you want further info PM me.

For the likes of iPlayer and ITV hub , you would need to use a VPN, not sure about the other three I listed.
Iíve not yet payed any subscription, other than Iíve just payed £0.99 for Amazon prime trial for a week because it was cheaper than paying the postage on something I was buying.

Ps I hope you get to go to Portugal this time.

Thanks Nick and Mandy.
I guess I went for the Roku after all the reviews. But most of the channels it 'promotes' look like they can be paid for. I have found a few free and maybe it's early days but there are literally thousands. Of course those recommended by family don't seem to be able to be added to the Roku.
I have committed to 3 months of basic Netflix but really just to see. I will cancel in March.

How are you two doing now? No more hassle here since all residents signed a compliant. She has gone quiet.

Success I think as I now get the disclaimer and content in English. But after searching through dozens of pages all I find are rentable films and no free ones.
Their initial add page and sign up screen indicated "Many free" films. Well I have yet to find one. Whats a CP.?

But when connected their customer services are very helpful.

Hi Ray,
Unfortunately on Roku we do not have yet the free section.
If you can log in through a CP you will be able to.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Wonder Woman , Rakuten TV team.
I do wish IT people would not use these abbreviations. Customer portal? Control Panel? Dunno Ray.

We need someone who has one of these sticks and I am afraid I dont.

raynipper Yep, gotta VPN Baz (Pure) but choose not to have it on unnecessarily as I feel it slows things down.

Now I'm arguing with Roku about them only offering content in French. It was their system that made the decision and got it wrong.

barryd Well maybe you just need that then, the UK channels thing. I thought there was just loads of free stuff though. I dont have one so cant really help on the channels but at least you got it working. So does the uK channels subscription give you bbc1 itv1 etc? Its supposed to be able to access iplayer, itv hub etc but I think you might have to subscribe to a VPN for that which you can do on a Roku apparently https://www.purevpn.com/bbc-iplayer-...ide%20the%20UK.
