I just googled for 1 full day looking for a solution for the problem and your post came up on results
I changed the PRV with a new one, car seems to have "cured" for 1-2 days, then..socking..simptoms re-appeared. It is possible that i blew the new one too?
The SCV is the other small "regulator" that is on the injection pump? aka: Metering valve?
    Thanks a lot !
The regulator that i've changed is this:

is this the suction valve that i need to change?

hi there , blimey where did you dig that post up from, the fuel pressure regulator problem was done by changing 2 items.
the fuel pressure relief valve . PRV
    and suction valve SCV
but a very good engine diagnostic person with ford IDS system will check and do "learn" this will check to see if they need doing . get both done as one can blow the other , not expensive and once done ( if faulty ) the "learn " will correct the bad idle i assume your having .

Hello. Could you please help me Bigholty. I stumbled upon a old post ( from 2014) of yours that told the story of a ford transit that had P0089 fuel pressure regulator performance error. Now, I have a Ford Focus that has the same error and same simptoms like yours. What was the solution please? No service shop seems to help me and my car is not in warranty anymore How did you fix the car? Thanks a lot, Sorin !
