They needed to visit your profile and look at your visitor messages. It isn't on any of the forum thread pages.
We were travelling across from the Dutch border near Groningen towards Usedom and Rugen. We found that Shell in Swinemunde (can't remember the Polish spelling) @ 4.29Z was 0.0066€ cheaper than a Star station we found at Suderholz where the LKW pump was 1.009€ so apart from getting Shell instead of a brand I've never heard of the visit to Poland didn't pay.

We finally stopped heading east and turned north onto the A.20 near Neubrandenburg then turned off at Jarmen for Wolgast. We went on to spend 2 nights at Peenemunde before going to Sellin and Prora on Rugen.

PS sorry about the missing umlauts.

Is this the message you were looking for.

A bit of advice from a local if possible?
Is it (as it would appear from info on the internet) worth venturing over the border into Poland to fill up with diesel? I usually do so over into Luxembourg when down that way as the saving on a 100 litre tank can be well worth while.

    Thanks
    S

I sent it as a "Visitor message" (which anyone else can see & is still there) rather than a "Personal Message" which no one else can see (Nope I can't see why the difference either) as we were near the Polish border & wondered if it was worth nipping over the border for diesel. But we found diesel for 100.9€ in Germany at the LKW pump and in Poland it was 4.29Z which is much the same.
But in Germany it was a brand (Star) I'd never heard of - but Shell in Poland.

Part Two reply - For Sapin read Spain, but not there yet, Minus 8 in the night which froze the tap and one pipe but thats been thawed out now, so on Saturday it's off to the south as planned. Just need to exchange one Gas Cylinder. I noticed Manny came into the story, we also had two cats, Momo named after the little girl of the Film Momo and Emily after Bronte, my wife was a fan. We got them from a Tierheim near us but both are both now chasing mice up with Mom in her camper. Momo was 12 and Ems 15, so I guess we gave them a good life. Thank gods for Mother in Laws, she got the baby sitting job when we were on the road. Well best regards to you both, just wanted to complete the reply properly, time to take the dog out in the snow, I need a sled that would be fun, TC both bye for now.

Reply part one - Hi Jan and Hans, hum the red wine must have been stronger than I thought having reread my post below. Yes my Surname is French, comes from 3 generations back, My Great Grandfather met his wife in Hounslow of all places, he took her to Bernay west of Paris, then before the 1st world war moved her to the UK to live with her parents but stayed in France, it is his diary I have been following on this trip, visiting the places he was in during 1914-18, (luck has it he survived and moved to the UK for good) they look so peaceful and beautiful now I can't believe what it must have been like for both sides back then. So I'm as English as Cadbury's, hum maybe not, it's now American I think, anyway, who cares about age, I was 58 Dec last and still running round like a mad thing.

Thank you for the acceptance. Well I live in the Taunus mountains West of Frankfurt, in the wonderful world of Hessen. My wife was German born here in the state but we met in the North in Dortmund where I was stationed, so when I retired it seemed sensible to come back to her home as her familly was all here. Heh Im not old enough (5 to forget everything yet but Im working on it. The harness is a lightweight training tool, Scarlett doesnt mind it as it is very comfortable and it comes off when shje goes to bed but it is easier to leave on during the day. Our last GSD has HD when she was around the same age, Scarlett was xrayed as a pup and again last year and she seems to be clear, she is not a show breed though and has a straight back which I am told by the vet helps a lot. So there we are, I am thawing out in Neufchateau heading south now, it is minus 5 here so off to sapin soon I think. Well take care both. Robert

Hi there, thought I would add you to my friends list, not into building big networks but since you both live in the same country as me, even if it is on the other side, you never know we might meet up on the road sometime. Robert
