    Hi David,
I had Fiat Commercial MoHo specialist do lights, foglight & the report for VCA, bill was 729 - expensive option but I wanted to establish a good relationship as it's under warranty.
The speedo overlay cost 49 from Lockwood's and my mate fitted it when he fitted the Tracker.

Insurance; the dealer provided Trade plates and driver to Calais, Safeguard insured it using the VIN number, valid from Dover - I just told them the reg no. later.

No problems whatsoever, you just read all the information carefully and do exactly what they say.
I think for a s'hand MoHO the hardest bit might be getting a valid European Conformance Certificate, should come from dealer or manufacturer. I'd want to see this important document before parting with money. Promises are worthless!

Feel free to ask anything else you think of; if you don't register on the MHF forum you only have 5 free posts so you might need to email me at mgsmithy@yahoo.co.uk,
    regards,

Thanks for your note regarding the import of motorhomes from Germany and your offer to provide information on your own import.
I see that you imported a new model but, although I intend to buy a used 10 year old A class, you may be able to help me with some information. Re the 3 alterations to the vehicle, i.e. dipped lights, fog light and speedo - did you do this work yourself or did a garage do the work and, if so, how much did the work cost? Did you manage to find an insurance company to cover you fully comp from the time you took delivery in Germany and subsequent journey home and until it was re-registered? Did you encounter any problems re importation etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Regards,
    David.
