Hello Terry,
I have to report, I could not finish your book. It started so well with the snake incident (except for the swearing which in my opinion did nothing for the story).
The dog story to my mind was grossly over exaggerated and when you reached Dereham I read as far as your joining the armed section, for me it was extremely boring. Not a book for women. Howsomever, no doubt it amused your son and other policemen who could relate to the stories.
My brothers wife came from Dereham. I lived in Norwich between 1967 & 1977 in the early years I had a few bobby friends (and their wives).
We also had a business called Prime reloading when we lived in Meldreth, maybe you have heard of it as it was firearm related?
If the book you are suggesting I read is not full of bad language and I´m not expected to read it in a day, then lets try.
Weather here is obysmal, cold wet `orrible.
