I have sent a PM as I don't want the world to know I have a noisy, at times dash. I was in Bad Waldsee and talked to them about a possible fix. Although ours just makes a sound like the top rubbing against the bottom and no knocking noise. They quoted anything between €2000 to €3000 and I asked about doing it myself. He said remove the large area between the Fiat ask and windscreen, look at improving whatever padding there is and drill holes at the front to replace the screws with nuts and bolts. I have not had the time to do yet but the first part can be tricky as it can be glued in places and great care is required as it is easy to damage the large grey part. Hope this helps.
