Hey there,

@erneboy said it correctly.

Quote:
Ed from VS wanted to make it free but found the system required some payment, so he made it a penny.

A day or two later he went to his bosses to discuss Facts as a whole and told them what he'd done. They didn't like it and withdrew the one penny offer. It's now £12.50 or whatever for 40 years or some such period of time.
As of right now, I cannot change the pricing of the membership.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Ed

Hi,

I let my membership lapse a couple of years ago and I don't seem to have as much time on my hands for forums browsing as I use to do. But decided it was worthwhile to re-subscribe if it's only £12.50 for 40 years (I should be so lucky).

I've not had a chance to have a proper browse yet, but I can see some familiar names are still around. Hopefully get to speak on some or other threads.

At my age it's easy to become confused! My profile is showing Liftetime Membership - with a renewal date of Feb 2018 having joined Feb 2017. Does this mean I'm about to pop me clogs?
Can somebody please explain?

If you have a look through this thread you'll find many have a similar problem (me included), Ed at VS was sorting it out but it appears he had his wrist slapped for taking the initiative and trying to sort it.
Allegedly it will get put right at some date in the future, whether that is within "lifetime" who knows?

Various members have had this issue resolved in various ways, me included.

Whilst your profile may suggest that you have lifetime membership, in reality this may not be true. Most recently, members have been renewing via Personal Aire/Profile /Subscriptions and renewing by PayPal only.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. Let us know how you get on should you renew, and whether you achieved a true lifetime membership or simply one further year.

I have just reported this post asking Ed from VS for an update. My understanding is that new subscribers get the lifetime membership and existing subscribers will get upgraded. I guess the question is will this be done en masse or when the next subs are due...
