scooter rack Elddis Sunseeker

Hi i have a 2007 elddis sunseeker on a boxer chassis .Has anyone fitted a rack /towbar to carry a scooter and did it work out with the extra weight ,any info would help George

Your best bet if you cant find anyone who has done the maths after weighing the exact same van is to do it yourself by going to a weighbridge.

This article explains what you need to do and how to do the calculation.

Basically you need to weigh the whole van then each axle and then measure the distance from the centre of the rear wheel to the end of the van or just beyond where the rack will be and then do the sums near the bottom of the article.

The shorter the overhang the better.

You might get a shock though. Ive been looking to replace our Kontiki 640 that carries our scooter for years and there are very few rear lounge vans that are up to the job. Generally they are the ones with the extended Alko Chassis but also sufficient available payload.
