Scooter on a provisional license

Assuming I have done the compulsory basic training in the UK, and have a full UK driving license, can I use a 125cc scooter in France. Are UK learner plates and a provisional license, valid outside of the UK?

Thanks.

Hi.

The computer says No!. .. for the last bit of your question

ray.

Just watching a shifty looking geezer in the library searching intently through the 'S' section of the dictionary, he's stopped now.

I think he's up to something. . .. . . ray......

A perverse thing but you can hire (and take out the relevant insurance) a 125 motor cycle or scooter in France and most EU countries with just a full car licence.

I think you will find that no provisional licence is valid outside the UK but as the previous post says you can hire a 125 on a car licence in France so if you could get iFrench nsurance you would be ok but I very much doubt your current insurance will cover you.
