Well I have to say this Laptop is the biggest pile of manure I have ever been saddled with, it is slower than a really slow thing, it can take minutes to open a page, rebooting is not something to do lightly either, I've disabled just about everything possible but it makes no difference at all, I'm going to try going to PC World to see if they can look at it, I don't want to send it away again but I may not have a choice.

I think you were told to go for a SSD Kev.

Just dug it out and booted up, 3 mins. Deleted a few progs and cleaned up as much as I can. Now downloading latest updates and will see how it is later.
Don't need it.

The SSDs do make a massive difference I am afraid to say (again). Send it back Kev. Not fit for purpose and swap it for an SSD model.

I set up a brand new HP Pavilion Ryzen 7 Gaming laptop today out of the box for an Autocad project with a 500gb SSD and 16GB of RAm and a 6GB Graphics card. Its mega fast. Just instant. Cant remember how much it was. Probably over a grand I think with the VAT. I still swear by the little Honor Magicbooks though. Really good quality for the price. No ethernet adaptor on the 14" though I just discovered the other day when transferring stuff to Michelles. Wifi only.

It's now back up to snuff and all boxed up again ready for Baz to tell me to dump it.

I know that SSD is fast, but that doesn't mean that mine should be as slow as it is, there is a problem somewhere, the one which packed up was plenty fast, I only had to wait a few seconds to get onto MHF as always, any other site was virtually instant, I wish I knew more than I do so I could figure it out as I've got nowhere on my own.

I guess you have done the basic housekeeping Kev. All the usual cleaning out crap and unnecessary start ups.

Oh yes and Mcaffee and OneDrive hog everything on start up.
