Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

Yes Andy you can add funds to your account that will enable you to use Skype to call landlines. Not sure about mobiles. I have a balance of €15 on mine. It's been there years as we get all inclusive calls round the world anyway.

Each to his own Pat but as all our family are on Skype, it seems hard work to change them all. Plus I refuse to have anything to do with Messenger as it caused me so much trouble at a very inconvenient time while away in Portugal for months.

It's free for computer to computer but costs for anything else eg. if you use it to ring a landline or mobile phone, leave a message on the same or send a text message. Either by buying credit or monthly subscription

I Dont use Skype Ray but have you checked in your default sound settings what Windows is using. Maybe Skype is just picking it up from there.

Try changing them to whatever speakers you want and see if Skype picks it up.

Just search for sound settings or right click on the speaker bottom right and change sound settings. If its a known problem though, maybe Skype need to fix it.

Yep, dun all that thanks Baz.
It's specifically a Skype thing.
I can select the monitor speakers and just restart Skype and it's back to what it terms as "Default Communications Device". So I have to select my Samsung monitor speakers each time and there is no OK or SAVE options.

Seems inadvertently I have fixed my problem by deleting the other external speakers. So as my only connected speakers are the Samsung monitor they get selected.
Great temporarily but as and when I want to use the external speakers I will have to add them to the Windows audio panel.
