Microsoft new Edge browser.

Just an observation but has anyone else (like me) downloaded and installed the 'new' Edge browser to their Windows 10 computer?

Recently I realised I was still using the old Edge and after reading about the merits and improvements of the new one I thought I would give it a try. Downloading and transferring all my favourites and book marks was easy enough but then the difference became apparent.
Every regular page had to be resized from enormous to convenient. Now when using my AOL search bar I get blocked by a pop up notice.
But another slight annoyance is when accessing my UK bank it now fills in one digit of my password randomly which blocks me opening my account. I now have to use Chrome or Firefox to log onto my bank. Not the end of the world but just annoying.

Anyone else experiencing gains or losses with Edge?

Ray.

Nope but as I keep telling you, I pretty much use chrome for everything but keep the other browsers available just in case something is a bit quirky.

Yes Baz. But apparently the new Edge is a clone of Chrome. So worth a look at least.

Checkout a browser called Brave Ray, it is the same as chrome but without spying on you.

Thanks Barry. I will take a look but up to now I do like Edge because of the one click ease of putting any site on the 'taskbar' so as soon as my PC loads I can one click any site of the 35 I regularly go to over the course of the day.
I know other browsers have the favourites list/menu but it usually involves more bother.

Thanks Ray.

Upgraded on our laptop.....not on our two everyday PCs.
The only problem is trying to reduce the 'Favourites' list to the original size.....ie. a couple of inches on the right hand side of the screen.
Each click produces another half screen sized image filling the whole screen.
Mentioned it on the MS forum but I have been somewhat half hearty about sorting it!!

PS. Have only ever used the standard Windows browsers (IE and Edge) never been tempted to play the field for the sake of it.

As I said Ted my favourites or chosen sites are now displayed by icons along the bottom of the screen 'Toolbar'. I only keep occasional progs and files on the desktop.
I found out about the ease of placing a site on the taskbar from my mag. As and when you have your bank, forum, media, sales, gov, etc. open. Click top right three dots menu, come down to 'more tools' and click "Pin to Taskbar" to stick the sites icon there. From then on it's just one click.

You can place internet site shortcuts anywhere Ray. They will just open in whatever your default browser is. Or you can turn on a bookmark toolbar at the top of your browser and single click any of your favourites from that. I generally have 50 million tabs open anyway.

I guess I never managed that Baz and now Edge has made it so easy that even I can do it. I just take the easy route.
I can't show the rest of my screen as I have my neighbour naked as a screen saver.

I use the top bar for regulars...Weather...Google etc and the bottom one for specific regular programmes.
Favourites is all the Web sites (many folders) and a main folder for all the Forums.
FWIW.
