I bought one of these when they were on special offer at £49 because the ink is incredibly cheap compared to other models.

Been working well both on Wi-Fi and USB for at least two years and can highly recommend it.

Stopped buying cartridges, buy good quality ink and refill them, plenty on YouTube on how to diy, companies sell the printer as a loss leader and cream the profit from their cartridge sales. Even the chipped print cartridges can be sorted.

I used to refill my HP inks but as I said the cost of ink carts for this Epson are so cheap.

The old bottles of ink must have dried up by now.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I printed anything out. I maybe have but I can't remember. Mrs D does as she reckons you have to have hard copies of invoices etc. I'm not sure that's true but cant be bothered to argue with her about it.

My canon printer bought specifically for top quality photo prints runs with 6 cartridges, the canon direct replacements cost £50+, none canon cartridges are much cheaper but the ink quality is crap and fades badly especially on photo prints. Good quality ink to refill works best for me.

I guess Terry as 95% of the time my printing is text and only the odd colour brochure or image in colour so quality is not needed.

If thats one of the Work Force range as ink jet printers go some of them are not too bad. I put an a3 work force into the quarry office where I do work (sometimes) about three years ago. It was about £380 I think. Nothing survives there, its like being on the surface of Mars. I told them I would give it two to six months before its knackered. Its absolutely covered in dust and eats ink but its still going so there are exceptions to what I said earlier.

I have a fairly (oh alright, a REALLY) ancient HP inkjet printer/scanner/copier that just keeps on going! The HP ink cartridges are stooopid money, I have never put HP ones in since the originals expired, I buy pattern ones off eBay for vastly less. Having said that I don’t print off photographs so IF the ink isn’t that good it doesn’t matter!

In the past, when running a car owners club, I did lash out on a laser (non colour) printer. The toner outlasted the printer, and that lasted 10+ years!

Just about everything I do is based on money and value Andy. So when Computer Active recommended this Epson WF-3620 as being about the cheapest to run all in one I went for it.

Fair comment Ray.

The last batch of 12 (3 sets of pattern not OEM) cartridges (1 x black and one of each colour per set) I bought off eBay cost me less than £8 delivered. I reckon that makes it a pretty cheap printer to run.
