Looking for a new tablet

I've given up with my iPad 4, so I'm looking to find an android with a similar spec, I bought a Samsung galaxy tab6 10.1'' but it's not much different to my tab4 size wise so I'm sending it back.

I need 64Gb, 4g with a CD card slot too, and of course a similar aspect ratio to the iPad 4.

Any ideas.

Bung yer requirements into the E-Bay search and see what comes up Kev. Not saying buy but just to see whats about.

What has made you give up on your iPad?

I have been using one for years, it does have a few “oddities” but it does everything I want.

If it’s still serviceable and you want to sell it send me a PM I might be interested.

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

I did that Ray, but there is no search option for the aspect ratio.

I was hoping someone had what I'm after and could make a recommendation.

Unless someone owns an iPad 4 they'll not know what ratio you're after Kev.

After owning 4 android pads I was totally unimpressed how they all gave up the ghost after a couple of years. They slowed up, the touch screen became unresponsive and become totally useless.
So as I already had a iPhone 5s, now almost considered an antique, but ‘just worked’! I decided to buy an iPad 2018 to compliment it.
It ‘just works’! No twiddly bells and whistles, no fancy modes, no eyeball searing colour displays. Just steady, trustworthy performance.
It works in perfect tandem with my phone and the screen size is ideal. It’s so good I bought one for the Missus to put and end to her rants about her android pad. I just have to convince her about getting shot of the medieval mobile phone she clings to.

I'm not signing anything.

The two impulses in travel are to get away from home, and the other is to pursue something - a landscape, people, an exotic place. Certainly finding a place that you like or discovering something unusual is a very sustaining thing in travel.

See below, love my ipad4, seldom pick up the laptop.

'All iPads have multi-touch IPS displays with a 4:3 aspect ratio. While the 16:9 aspect ratio is considered the best for watching high definition video, the 4:3 aspect ratio is considered better for browsing the web and using apps.'

I'm a computer tech. Been doing Mac's and Windows for over 30 years. What I find is you get better initial bang for buck with Android stuff (phones or tablets), but more usable years from iOS, so it turns out to have better total cost of ownership (TCO). The software is generally better too, though that's not as big an issue as it used to be. Android seems to slow down over time with its OS updates and security software (same thing Windows suffers from). Having said that I've always had android phones because, despite what I just wrote, I just can't come at the outrageous prices Apple charge for their phones. The iPads aren't so bad pricewise. So I'm suggesting you stick with iPads. Might depend what you use for a phone - if iPhone definitely stick iPad as you'll have to get some new software possibly if you go android.

I had an iPad Mini 2 for a while and like that size, then got a 9.7" Pro one, but I think I prefer the Mini size & weight (mind you I also have a MacBook Air which is a nice light laptop if I want to go to a larger screen).

Had Samsung Galaxy Note phones for quite a few models (the 1, 2 & 4). Now they're stupidly expensive. Currently have a Oneplus 6 and it's very good and not too pricey.

I have an Huawei MediaPad T3 8". from Amazon, I really like it and have had no issues, its prime use is as a SatNav but seems to do everything else reakky well including using Dropbox storage as a means to moving files around.
