Hi

I've just been given a Samsung Tab A 10" for a birthday present after years of using HUDLs (1 and 2) on the recommendation of this forum (The HUDLs not the Tab A!). I am amazed by the battery longevity but that might just be my not having had access to a recent design tablet for a number of years. Everything else seems to be fine but to be fair I've not put it through any sort of comparative test. I'm sure it will be absolutely fine and I've not found any shortcomings yet.

My issue with the comments about TCO by "wfdTamar" above is that people with iPads tend to want to keep up with the Jones and update very regularly. I have used my Android HUDLs into the ground without any need to update until important things started to not function. I guess that there may have been a fair number of iPad re-launches in the meantime. I work on a voluntary basis with homeless and needy people. "Poverty" might be less if there wasn't pressure to have this or that piece of tech. I am not joking. When they come in for their free lunch they all want sockets to recharge their iPads that I couldn't even consider affording. OK I'm off my soapbox.

The only other advice I can give is to go online and look for the comparative blogs and magazine articles on the best 10 tablets etc and see what is what for your needs. You don't have to spend loads if you don't want to.

Ipad all sorted, took two minutes, 7 days to pick a new password, why do apple have to make it so bloody awkward after I had proved my identity.

Why did you mess things up in the first place? Don't blame Apple for your own forgetfulness, they were looking after your interest.

I can blame who I like Drew, in this case Apples OTT security, which I think I already mentioned already, what other company takes a week to allow a password change ffs.

We have three samsung tablets , a tab 2 9.7 and two Tab 3 9.7 all going strong and a darn sight cheaper than the over the top Apple prices.

As I'm a dyslexic and I've had two stokes you are going to see spelling/grammar mistakes, so please don't act superior and point them out!
