Edge and ads.

Just managed to get the download to work and finding my way around.
First and so far only 2 problems, first is with the browser Edge, it doesn't have accelerators and I can't find how to get them (if you can), any ides?
Secondly I still have AdBlocker plus but since the upgrade I'm getting all of the adverts, can't find anywhere on the system to see if it is working only an option to un-install it.

.

Ray.
Not if you don't do any complicated formatting for DTP or anything more than simple letters.

I'm not signing anything.

The two impulses in travel are to get away from home, and the other is to pursue something - a landscape, people, an exotic place. Certainly finding a place that you like or discovering something unusual is a very sustaining thing in travel.

if you want to jump the queue and download Win10 now there is a small registry change that will kick it off early

simple change for those who know how to access the registry

1.Locate the registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade]
2.It should exist, but if not, create it.
3.Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value with Name = "AllowOSUpgrade” (without the quotes), and set the Value = 0x00000001.
4.Open the Windows Update from Control panel, you should be ready to upgrade immidiately

could be dangerous if you don't know

worked on two win7 PCs , one had registered for the upgrade but had not received it and another who hadn't even had the invite

Bump

Any chance of the 64 bit instructions?

I'm aware it is running in the background, unfortunately you have to open each page as an Explorer one from Edge.

Kev, no need for that style of workaround go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
and you can download direct from Microsoft without further ado, that's how I got it in the end as the official upgrade kept failing, my laptop tried 27 times and failed every time to do it via the auto upgrade.

I went down that route and there is something missing from my system (nut on the keyboard probably) so the reg edit looked like it might help, but he didn't give enough detail about "Dword" and nothing for the 64bit systems.

I had a look just now at my registry as per the mentioned instructions, and there is nothing there, I just need to know what I need to put in there.

Talking to myself again ...

Just discovered that if you click on the three dots top right of screen ...
there is an option to 'open current webpage in Internet Explorer' and lo and behold the google toolbar then appears.
Any way of getting it to display in 'Edge'?

@eurajohn , I also have the adds back even though Adblock plus is still installed.

Tried that John but it only put 18MB onto the flash drive.
So didn't try and go any further as it was obviously not the 3GB necessary.

The FSA formerly SIB & PIA licensed a twice convicted fraudster to handle our life´s savings. Guess what? He robbed us of £750,000. So they changed their name again to the FCA.

This may have been said already, if so sorry (15 pages is a lot to read through!).
My good lady upgraded her 8.1 to 10 no problems - however when she tried to play a card game which requires java with the new Edge browser it would not work and the information was confusing. Eventually we realised that her original Internet Explorer was still there and can be used just as in windows 8.1 - her problem solved!

I am still very happy with my Linux Mint 17
