Fitting solar panels to newish carthago with CBE

hi

Friend has a carthago that he wants to fit solar panels to

It has a CBE 320 control panel

Looking for any docs / instruction manuals for this CBE equipment

Or advice on connecting a regulator to this control panel

Had a look on the CBE web site but it is lacking this info , may try emailing them if no luck with MHF

Thanks

Just connect to the same terminals as the mains charger.

thanks Techno100 ,

problem is if I connect as you suggest (using a charge controller/ regulator) I suspect nothing will register on the control panel - which has a solar symbol on the display
( pity its not a Schaudt system I know what I am doing with those)

having only glanced at this campers CBE installation a few weeks ago just wondering if you are referring to making the terminations into the CBE 12V distribution board ( the white box with fuses at the top ?) this is located in their camper garage together with the mains charger

my friends paid to have their camper prewired for solar when they ordered it from new

their idea in paying for this prewired for solar was they would only need to supply & connect solar panels and that the regulator would have been installed into the system

Carthago's idea is some what less they just ran in the cable and fitted the roof gland

the solar cable drops down from the roof gland to a service locker underneath the centre of the floor in the habitation area where there is a split charge device (it does not run off to the the 12v distribution panel in the garage)
Toddles and Toddles like this.

Connecting to the leisure batteries has exactly the same effect as connecting to the mains charger terminals in the distribution box
It is only a question of which is the shortest cable run.
The cable on my rapido twixt distribution panel and batteries at opposite ends of van is 10mm and better that the 4mm rapido installed for the solar
