Did Pilote use the whole wiper mechanism from the base chassis?

Hi everyone,

New to the forum and straight in with a question.

I have a Pilote Galaxy 27S on a 1998 Peugeot Boxer chassis with the 2.5 TD engine. I've enjoyed it immensely over the past couple of years but now have a problem.

The nearside wiper arm has broken at the spindle. The aluminium tapered section that fits over the spindle cracked and let go, so I now need a replacement. I picked up an arm off eBay for a 2005 Boxer but the taper is too big for the spindle.

So, do we know if they definitely used the base vehicle components in which I need to source a 1998 Boxer one or did they fit stuff from any old thing?

Thanks in advance, Baz

Hi bazateer, and welcome to the forum.

I don't KNOW but I can't imagine they'd go to the bother of replacing what would surely come as part of the base chassis.

Jean could well be right but as an A class it could be different?
Hopefully an answer isn't far away!

Ted.
I try and state simple facts in a nice way.

Ah, sorry, I hadn't cottoned on it was an A-class. In that case I'd take the opposite view!

Some A class have three wiper blades rather than the “normal” two as well!

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

I seem to recall that there were a few threads on here about some A class builders using Volvo wiper parts, might be worth looking into with a search of the forum.
