Pilote (and Bavaria) Xperience control panel PITA
Guten Tag from Germany to Pilote MH owners mit der vollen bells und wunderbar whistles Xperience control panel. Viel Spaß eh?
So we just bought a 2019 Pilote Xperience control panel with free motorhome attached. It's a bit of PITA.
French camping car forums seem to have a number of complaints but my French is non-existent and Google Translate mostly just says sacre bleu!
Here's the fun we've had so far.
Water level showed 75% from full to about 30 liters remaining (130L tank), then I guess 50%-25%-0% for each 10L drop. After software update it's now showing 100% only. Any ideas on how to get that to show something more useful?
Battery level shows random % but at least goes up when charging and down when discharging. It takes several days on EHU to get to 100%. Dealer told us to ignore % and just look at voltage. I checked voltage with multimeter, it matches what Xperience panel says so that's sort of ok. We just swapped Lead Acid battery for LiFePO4 which Xperience doesn't like either. Right now Xperience says 75% but battery BMS says 59%. I changed the charger setting on the panel from Lead Acid to Lithium when installing new battery.
Does anyone have Xperience experience of battery % showing matching actual % SOC? Or know how to set it correctly? The lithium battery people suggested there should be a reset feature - charge battery to 100% first time then reset the panel. I disconnected battery and reconnected, switched panel off and on, and it was good for first 12 hrs or so with % a good match to BMS display.
After software upgrade by dealer, the help file pdf disappeared. Did anyone find a copy online? I failed. I'll ask the dealer but they're not the best to deal with so I'm trying to save my questions for more urgent or important issues.
The panel looks to be fitted differently on 2020 model Pilotes, not sure if it's the same panel with better installation, or if Pilote have improved it somehow.
