help! what engine fit to opel hymer 1979?

Hey friends,
My first post
will be gentle

I have a1979 Opel Heymer Motorhome.

Unfortunately, I have an officer hole in the Carter.
I'm thinking of replacing an engine.

Soo, Do you have any recommendations for a engine that can fit the car and that won't be a lot of engine changes??

thanks all

Not much help to the OP but
Jean I think the OP does not have English as their first language.

Carter is the word for crankcase in a few European languages

My guess at an interpretation of his request is that the existing engine has a holed crankcase and they are looking for a replacement engine as the existing is beyond repair.
Not likely but if they give some more in depth info as to what the actual base vehicle is might help, i.e. what model of Opel.

.
Ozzyjohn, raynipper and yarmouth like this.

I think the Opel van of that time was the same as the Bedford CF van

Thank you all.

In the coming days my mechanic will tell me what the problem with my engine, I currently see a hole in the oil sump (Carter).

My vehicle is Opel Hymer 79, Vauxhall CF 97 300 engine 2.3L

I'm in the Middle East,So the access to Vauxhall engines is limited.

one of our thoughts was to make a fit for the engine that could fit into my motorhome.

Gosh that would take some specialist knowledge of Vauxhall/Opel engines. Would be terrible to find out it doesn't fit after you bought it.
