Thetford C200

Have just gone to replace the lip seal on my Thetford and undoing the screws , I noticed that bubbles appeared around the yellow valve blade opener.

Removing the old seal, the blade is loose and wobbles and there is play in the opener.

The does not seem to be any loose bolts or screws but it is not exactly easy to see.

On the parts diagram it is shown as a complete unit with no actual part nos, am I in the proverbial with it?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated please.

Regards.

The only suggestion I can make at the moment is don't forget to wash your hands!

Seriously though, I am about to empty our cassette so will have a look and report back later.

OK - I assure you that I have just washed my hands!

I gave the cassette a good clean out but when I got my hand inside it still felt rather slimey all over the blade mechanism!

So, I have put some bleach in and will let that do its trick before I go firkling again!

The blade is loosely mounted but the yellow opener should be fairly tight.

There is (somewhere) on the Thetford site a series of pictures on how to change the mechanism.
They might help you a bit.
Except of course in the pictures they have sawn off the bottom half of the tank.
Quite how one is 'sposed to get a hand inside to work is another matter.

Will get back to you later.

All will be revealed - enjoy!

I bet they did not use an abused cassette!

Thanks for all the help Pippin - all I need now are x-ray eyes and a small hand.
