Key code. Ducato 1999 motorhome

Hi.

I am having a problem with my Ducato motor home. It start fine and ticks over and Rev well. As soon as I put foot down on clutch and put into gear. The key code light comes on along with glow warning. At thus point if I try to Rev, the engine start coffins. And as soon as I let out clutch the engine dies and refuses to move even an inch before dying.
Can anyone please help.

Ours is in a garage at present because if the key code issue….

I am unlikely to hear any more for another week (garage overwhelmed) but will let you know what they find out, if you find out more please let me know.

You are supposed to have a card with a four digit number on it, you can reset this number by entering it in using the ignition switch…. On and off in a sequence on the card and in the manual afaik (all my info. is in the MH 150km away).

Sadly there is another thread on here with similar problems ….. it must be the weather !

Any typo that I make means the errorists win.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

Hi and welcome to MHF, it would help if you were to tell us which engine you have as well, but with no key code it may be a dealer job if they will even get involved with a 99 van.

I would ask on the fiatforum.com as well.

Just heard ours needs a new part due to key code not working and we do not have the original code. The garage reckons they can sort the whole lot, fit a new immobiliser all for 500€ so we will wait and see.
