Red face Inverter/Generator

The age old problem. I have a Knaus moho with 2x100 house batts, 130w solar but would still like to use my ef1000 gennie to recharge when I park off grid for extended periods. Can I just plug into the 240 like I would at a cp site and carry on as normal?

Yep.

Thanks, but will this damage the batteries and how long would it take if batts were 50% discharged? Seeing as it’s a new moho, I’m a bit worried about damaging things. Cheers

If you plug into a gennie as you would a camp site electrical point then it should all be fine.

Your M.H won’t know/care what’s producing the “wriggly amps” EHU or Gennie is immaterial

It will simply use them to charge the batteries/run the 12v system.

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, it’s in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

We have a built in gas generator, hugely expensive

I can count on one hand the times we’ve used it

We bought it to run the air con when we are off grid, I struggle in heat

Apart from that our solar panels and inverter have meant we rarely need it, if it’s hot we head for a campsite with Electric to run the aircon
