ducato handbrake modificatoin

hi all as the topic says

as every knows if you have swivel seats the standard handbrake is to low to safely use while driving

i decided to have a look at mine today and realised i could raise the lever fairly easily

what i did was chock the wheels and then unbolt the hand brake lever and disconect the cable and switch then i cut the bracket and welded a bit of 5mm thick steel plate 60mm x60mm
square to the existing bracket to raise the lever 60mm

then made a shackle that had 8mm fixing holes 60mm apart put all back together and works a treat and is easy enough to get hold of now

100mm would be better but it would hang out of the cover to much for my liking

if anyone feels that they want to do it please do contact me and as i can explain it better on the phone

here are some pictures

the wood screw shows the extra 60mm platen
