I have a Trigano Challenger 6 berth, based on a 2.4 Ford Transit. The previous owner unfortunately had hit something while reversing and has damaged the rear bumper and one of the rear lights.
I would love to replace the bumper and light unit, but have no idea where I would go to find these items - can anyone help?
I've repaired the rear bumper with fibreglass and closed cell plastic panel, I've also managed to fit some reflective red vinyl over the broken part of the rear light (which was only a reflective panel anyway), but was horrified at the rear light bulb carriers.
Talk about manufacturers cutting corners to save money - a poorly made, thin metal plate which barely holds the bulbs in place with contacts that are losing their springiness (is that a word?) and needed bending to actually maintain contact.
I think a trip to my local breakers yard to scavenge some decent bulb holders, cobble together a carrier to hold the bulbs in place behind the existing lens units is next on the cards.
I've ordered a set of led bulb carriers from Ebay, I'll wire them in and make sure the attachments are better than the awful way Trigano set it up.
After I had repaired the bumper I re-attached it properly, previous owner had tried to manufacture some support brackets that were allowing the whole assembly to flap about making the cracks and splits worse every time the vehicle went over a bump.
As far as a replacement bumper goes, it looks like that one is no longer manufactured or available, given the age of the vehicle I must admit I am surprised - I imagine it's one of the parts that regularly gets bashed and walloped.
