I see your 40 and raise to 49 (that's the hottest I've been in) - outside on my dad's farm in Northern Victoria baling hay. I'm over that sort of malarkey. It's why I live in Tassie.

Try Saudi or Qatar where the weather forecast never goes above around 49C although local thermometers certainly do - but of course they are inaccurate.....

I was told that the reason for that has something to do with employment laws and the compulsory rest days if it is over 50 - I am sure that would never happen....

FIFA has been involved over the building of the football stadia and workers health, the Qatari's are now apparently to provide solar powered hats which will reduce the head temperature by 10C as this article explains;

https://www.theguardian.com/football...dy-temperature

Workers are apparently not allowed to work outside in the summer during certain hours....

I must say it was HOT when I was there but I had the advantage of spending an entire day in a cool swimming pool (teaching and assessing diving instructors) - I ended up wrinkled like a prune but at a comfortable temperature......

Thinking of; Mavis, Ray, Sandra and Albert at this time.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

Its an impossibility to get more "out" of a machine than you put "in"

Its the simple and basic laws of Physics.

Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if it’s in a caravan!) I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

True Andy, the ‘energy in’ is the solar that heats the large quantity of outside air you’re ‘harvesting’ (in the case of heating).

Here's another way you might be able to retrofit air con (from about £470). They look a bit cheap n nasty. Would require some custom fitting:
