No reason at the moment I just wanted to know what other countries say in the same situation.

We used to write down a particular word and ask the nearest German to say it:-

Ladylike

It wasn't very funny and fortunately we grew out of it quite quickly

Ted.
I try and state simple facts in a nice way.

If you want a REAL challenge (much more than crossing fingers Sandra !) try getting a French person to say;

"Harry has hot hairy hands and hates ham"

The result is linguistically challenging.........

We tried with several au pair type youngsters and they still remember it and practice and in one case she has made a very determined effort to make sure that her children can say it....... 😜

Remember Jo Cox and what she stood for.

Any comments above are only MY OPINION and should be read as that.

2nd Download on my website might be useful. Actually there are some useful phrases in there.

I like the "This that and the other" phrase. Always floors them. But we suffer when trying Squirrel and Anduilette and many other words.

Don't even mention andouilette!!

I had it in one of the bastide towns in France and I will never, ever let it cross my lips again.

I did try, thinking this is one of the staples in France, it must be OK.

Yuck, yuck and yuck!

Yes Jean. Saying it is easier than actually eating it. A friend likened it to a boiled sheep's bottom.
