Talking Some people

In amongst all the Christmas cards sent to us this year was a very nice robin card signed "From both of us".

Can you believe it? No post code or return address just 'us'. With over 100 cards and they expect us to know who 'us' is.?

Are some of us losing the plot?

Ray.

No Ray it’s not just you. I get ****ed off when people just say “Happy Christmas from George” (or similar)

George ******ing WHO??? I don’t have a crystal ball you muppet!!

It’s the same when the phone rings and you answer it and the voice at the other end says “Hi, it’s me!” My response is usually something like “Are you sure it’s you, because it’s not your voice”

Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if it’s in a caravan!) I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

You are supposed to remember

They have remembered you

Do you really have friends that you don’t remember?

If so return a card saying I no longer remember you

Because if you don’t they are no longer your friends

Simple

How can I return a card Sandra if I don't know who it's from?

We always used to send out and receive about 150 cards at Christmas even though I am an old Humbug.
When we had our financial loss 14 years ago and really had to economise I managed to persuade my wife to cut back and we 'only' sent out 75 to close family and friends. Sadly it's crept back up to near 100 now and even those many are new?
As Martin Lewis says it's a forced guilt trip. Personally I would now only send online 'e' greetings and save about £80. But I am accused of being a miserable old sod, which is probably true.

I´ll tell you what really got up my nose and made me give up sending cards, a few things really, but the biggest bug were the cards that said exactly what you said in your opening post From Tom & Gerry no personal greeting, no "how are you we are fine" even and thats all you hear until the next year. I also heard someone say they write the cards for next year when they take the cards down, checking off who sent one and who didn't.
I keep in touch all year, either by phone or email, with people I want to know how they are and they want to know how we.
Friends are not just for Christmas

It's a habit we should break.
Think of all the tress chopped down to make em and then all the landfill after. OK 5% recycling.
