Are you a member ?

Jayne was fascinated and had to have a chat with this English man who carried a spinning wheel with him in his motorhome. Good job we have no more room in the garage ha ha. Met him in the Brantome Aire last year , perhaps he is a member here.

ps I know that MHF has become more of a political debating forum recently; would like to join in the debates but I know little of politics so I'll just keep posting the holiday pics and videos.

Yep I also no little

But what little I know is important as is what little you know

Now some do not agree with that

They think they know

But to be fair they donít they only think they do

If they did there would be no debate on Brexit, it would be a done thing, or a not done thing

Labour would have won the last election , thousands of labour supporters would not have deserted them

Interesting times

But yes the guy weaving is closer to many of us

Itís certainly closer to me

Personal Aire
You just keep adding your four pennyworth Alan, I like to see your name there after all the worry we had over you, was he spinning sheep wool? Many year ago we had wool spun from Sheltie fur, it looked super so I knitted a jumper from it, nobody could wear it, even with a t-shirt underneath it prickled the skin.

Wow, how soothing is that Alan?

Is his wife knitting the product beside him?

I once came across a man doing embroidery on an aire in Portugal. Fairly unusual but again, very relaxing.

Jan and Jean- Jayne can't remember what wool he was using but yes his wife was sitting beside him knitting with the finished product. They had come to Brantome for a weavers /spinners convention or something like that , apparently they follow them around France.

Ps I am still doing ok thanks . Doc's appointment on Tues , hope he confirms that all is still ok.

Like jan I once had our long haired German shepherd dogs coat woven

It was a summer fair at some castle, Iím guessing it was wales , fascinating to watch

She made the spinnings into teddy bears which she sold, who bought Odinsí I donít know.

But of course I only saw it on the wheel and received a small sample

One of my uncles (here in Scotland) used to knit his own socks.
I can't remember whether it was with three or four double-pointed needles, so there was no 'seam'.

I knitted once upon a time

I knitted an arran sweater for Albert before we married, it must have been love

And it was stollen from the back of the car

Knitted a few bits for the kids but it was not my forte

Never found it relaxing

And as they grew so did the size of the knitting, and I bought them instead
