Question Full timing during the lockdown?

Hi folks,

My wife and I were just going to start full timing when the lockdown kicked in. Now we’re waiting “patiently” (not) for it to lift so that we can start our new adventure.

We were just talking as I was saying to her that some full timers are doing Home Ed and she asked me how the full time community are getting on during the lockdown, ie where are you basing yourselves as we’d heard that all campsites were closed?

Cheers,

Jim

Good point Jim.
I gather some are still marooned in Spain and Portugal and two RV friends stuck in the states, can't be bad.

I know of one who is in a car park in Cornwall where it says "No overnighting", there are two vehicles there - one MH and once caravan. The caravan is occupied by an ICU nurse who has had to isolate herself from her family.

Both of them are in the car park with the full, written, permission of the local Council - the Council took the sensible step of allowing these two to stay and has given them some assistance as regards bins, water and waste disposal.

But, BOTH vehicles and people, have been targeted by people from the local community who mistakenly thought they were on holiday..... disgraceful behaviour and the Police are involved......

The MH owner is a full timer and has taken the sensible decision to stay there rather than move to ????? and incur the misguided wrath of others......

So, be very careful as, at present, the "Stay at home, Protect the NHS, Save lives" is being enforced by the Police. Devon and Cornwall Police are stopping MANY vehicles, both on the approach to or from the Region and more local roads inside, just to ask "are you driving somewhere to take exercise ?" The reason being that the Chief Constable is maintaining that the exercise must be much longer duration than the drive - a view that some Police Chiefs have taken, but not all have enforced it to the same extent due to a lack of clarity in the advice THEY were given.

Not an easy route at present and it is likely to be a long time until the freedom to roam is restored, if indeed it ever is..... 😪

Stay safe.

We heard of one who is just parked in a road. He was approached by police who, eventually, agreed that he could stay but he must, at all times, keep his van door shut.

I wouldnt want to be in a motorhome right now unless it was safely tucked away on private land. The self appointed Coronavirus Vigilante police are I would imagine your biggest risk of you are.

I did have ours MOT'd, serviced, fueled and gassed just in case the lights went off but I guess if they do it wont be going further than the village hall car park. (no view on the drive).
