Insuring a vehicle here in Germany

I´m starting a new thread because I can´t find where I told you about my insurances

The present company I am with everyone thought was very expensive and according to what you pay in the UK it is.
Last year we asked another company for a quote and they were no cheaper than the one I have. Jürgen asked his man and thats even more expensive than my present company, all the other insurances I have are with the same company and he's a good chap to deal with (even though he speaks no English)

The Forester is now less after I complained to him, 616.09€ instead of the initial 833.92€.
Jürgen company 698.73€

The Navajo hasn't changed from 1,049.93€
Jürgens lot want ,1,196.21€

I´m sticking.

I'm Jan

The prices do seem to be very high compared to the UK or to Spain Jan. I don't know anything about motor insurance in Germany but it may be that personal injury claim awards there are relatively high which would account for the cost. Stii, it's a bit of a blow. Our cars here in Spain are around €300 each fully comp. That's a fair bit less than the one we have in the UK and our van costs about the same as yours but the premium is well loaded because it's an American with an 8.3 litre engine. Personally I see no reason to think that the size of the engine increases the risk. But there we are. It would be around £350 if the engine was 3.5lt or less.

Brexiters. It's your sh1t now. Whatever happens nationally and internationally you own it. I wish you luck. I think you're going to need all you can get and then some. Friday 13th December 2019.

Seems horrendously expensive. Is it worth joining a German motorhome forum Jan? There may be some discounts or advice. I joined an Austrian and a French one and they were pretty helpful.

You have suggested that before.
I will get Heike to help me do that, but its probably too late to change now anyway as it starts 1st Jan and they have to have a certain amount of notice to cancel, although I do believe if the insurance goes up you can cancel. Bit short of time before the silly season is in full swing I think.
