The last time I renewed I was offered Personal Accident Cover as an add on to my fully comp insurance. It didn't strike me as odd at the time but it does now that you point it out. Must look at the other policy.

Pete

Personal injury cover will be for any person OTHER than the driver.

Andy

Its not the destination that matters.

It's who you share the journey with (even if like me, itís in a caravan!)
I am very fortunate to have Mrs Plodd to share mine with

I know which is why the companies I specified provide personal cover to the driver automatically, maybe I should have said that rather than implying it through replying

If the policy specifies personal accident that's there to cover the driver. Any other occupant would be covered under the third party liability. They are third parties. The driver is the first party. Hope that helps.

To understand it better think of two types of insurance. In an at fault accident the driver has no claim against themselves. A personal accident policy or add on will cover that, usually in a fairly limited way.

Brexiters. It's your sh1t now. Whatever happens nationally and internationally you own it. I wish you luck. I think you're going to need all you can get and then some. Friday 13th December 2019.

The other thing to remember is that when abroad travel insurance will cover medical expenses in the event of an accident, true also of this country if you need accomadation etc. My peronal accident insurance tends to cover death or loss of limbs, none of them really cover medical expenses.

I have Saga motor insurance on Chris's car and they offer Personal Accident Insurance as an added extra. It was not for a huge amount but is reassuring to have something.
