6 month insurance?

I have bought a motorhome for a summer trip to Europe. I am visiting from Australia. I have family in the UK and I also have aBrit driving licence. Can I get insurance? I read a thread about an aussie having issues on 3 fronts (no mortgage etc) what problems does anyone foresee (no claims?)
Can I get insurance for just 6 months? Can my brother/sister insure it and I am an added driver type scenario?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Unless you are very lucky the answer is likely to be No, No and No.

Virtually all UK insurers will not touch anyone that is not an EU resident and an EU licence holder either as a policy holder or as an additional driver.

6 months policies are also rare and often pointless as they do not work out much, if any, cheaper than annual policies due to the high initial set up cost.

The only 2 insurers I can suggest you try are...............

1 - Downunder insurance

2 - HIC for a "Walkabout" Policy

Good luck.

PS As you have a UK licence - how long have you been a non-resident?

It could be worth approaching a few insurers and saying that you have just been working abroad and have now returned to the UK and see what answer they give.
