Sat Dish won't retract when engine starts

As the title says , the Sat dish used to retract automatically when the engine was started and now it doesn't , Think I've accidently reset the programme for that as I was washing the roof. moving the MH, trying to get the Sat dish stationary to wash around it. Anyone know how to fix it ?

If it is Oyster they will talk you through it. They may even have instructions they can email to you.

I suspect your ignition live isn't being seen though. I would assume that feed is fused.

Think erneboy is right, phoned the Oyster helpline and they basically said the same thing . So I have to look for a wire out , a blown fuse - or get an auto electrician.
erneboy likes this.

Does your fridge still work on 12 volt when engine is running?
If you have an automatically retracting step on engine start, does it still work?

It is called the D+ signal (an output from the alternator) that makes those and the retraction of the sat dish work.

What is the base vehicle of your van?

Will you please let us know how you get on?

Ours wouldn't contract a few years ago in winter due to freezing in the upright position. I blew 2 fuses before giving up so I took a bowl of hot water and threw that over the mechanism and quickly tried again...that time with success!

Bit of a nightmare though if it doesn't come down, so I'd be all ears to know how to overcome the problem.

Fridge works ok when travelling but the step never retracted ( the old man I bought the van off said this was a factory fault and it never worked from new, said N& B would fix it if ever in Germany)

ps The dish retracts ok from the button at the Oyster control box.

IT's a 2003 Niesmann & Bichcoff Arto 69G.

Had a look at all the fuses I can see , all ok . Don 't really know where to look next

ps Should I look at the fuses in the engine compartment, or is that just silly ?

It may be supplied from the fuse box via a fuse but then have another fuse inline. Try to follow the wiring. Look behind trim and so on.

As the system can be retracted via the controller, suggests that it is the D+ signal that is missing.
Not knowing the electrical management system fitted to your van, difficult to make suggestions as to why that is.
Although strange that the fridge is still working via 12 volt, as that will also be controlled by the D+

Ten-haaft recommend using the D+ signal for auto retraction rather than an ignition on signal, on most German vans that is supplied via the electrical management system, be it Schaudt, CBE etc., as the power for it should be supplied from the leisure batteries not the van one.

If you feel confident enough to investigate and need any specific help just ask.
The Ten-haaft web site is good and you can download specific information for the system you have.
