Never thought I'd post in here

but here goes, Tiki has a dish, it seems to whir around, so I was wondering what is the cheapest way of seeing if it produces anything worth watching, I assume I need a PVR type jobbie to get anything at all.

Suggestions and links all welcome, then I'll nag you on how the set the thing up as I got no manuals with it, but it's a Road Pro.

Only ever met one, still friends with her though, so I must have done "something" right.

Buy a small cheapish Freesat box. I have a Manhatten brand one and it was about £40 I think on Amazon. It is HD capable too. If you want a 12V version you will pay more but we only watch TV when on campsites so we use hookup power. If you want to record programmes as well, then you will need a PVR in which case Humax Foxsat are one of the best. Setting up the satellite is usually great fun. When on a campsite be sure to sell tickets before you start as it's great comedy to watch. I use a free standing dish and I can get most everything I want on that combination in UK and for most of France except the far south. It will depend on the size of your dish - said the virgin!!

As you were soldier!

Then perhaps the singular, virgin, would be more accurate. Sounds like you'd been making a pig of yourself!

We have a small dish and a Comag receiver in the trailer, and another pair for the Mercedes.

Ours is purely manual for satellite aiming, yours will have the facility to find satellites itself, probably by signals from a receiver in the van or possibly built-in software.

Contact the makers or look on their website/Google to find out if it is 'intelligent' or needs a receiver to drive the seeking function.

I'm too busy on the trailer drawings to break away for now.

Got an Elddis interior for it, cooker/fridge/oven/Carver and all the soft furnishings. Seller delivering tomorrow.
