And I've buggered it up.

I did the thumb print to open it and it keeps asking me for a password, I put in the password and they say its wrong and keep switching the phone off, why does it ask for a password anyway when I have done the thumb print?

If the device doesn't recognise your finger print then it will ask for your password to unlock the phone.

The password it is asking for is the one you registered with on Apple when you set up the other phone (I think)

Its putting up numbers not letters John. I have sent an email, have to wait until tomorrow now.
I have also put in a request to send it back if that turns out to be the case.
Maybe they have a special number to unlock, just got an email hold on a minute
Just to tell me they will get back to me.
I was so looking forward to using it

Does this help Jan? http://osxdaily.com/2011/01/16/forgo...-how-to-reset/

If you cant remember the passcode I think you are going to have to reset the phone to factory settings and start again. I dont have that phone or that version of the OS. I dont even have a passcode on mine but if you follow that set of instructions hopefully you can start again.

Could do with someone on here with a similar phone really.

Good! Now get one of those permanent marker pens, stand in front of a mirror and write the passcode on it backwards (so it makes sense in the mirror) on your forehead!

I know what happened on the first go now, because it is so fast and sensitive, not like the other tractor, I had managed to put an unknown numbed in the first box, strange I managed to put the same number in the repeat box so that it accepted a pass number but I didnīt know what it was. I have had to use the number to log into it a few times , but have now put it to recognise my thumb print.
Still canīt sign in here with it. I have changed my password and no trouble login on here, but not on the phone.
