Any problems with Huawei mifi?

I have a Huawei E5332 which I've used successfully for several years both in UK and abroad, with a 3 Internet with legs data sim.

However, over the last couple of months it has been poor. At home in Belfast I'm getting no connection at all, even if I put the sim into my phone.

I'm just wondering if the US pressure has meant it's not going to work properly in the future?

I doubt if our world has got to that yet. If it's a data Sim it would not necessary work in your phone anyway Jean. As to the mifi, try resetting it to factory settings. Google it or look for a hole somewhere (you might have to open it) to insert a paperclip and push one in for a couple of seconds with it switched on.

This is strange Jean, elsewhere on the forum or was it on an email to Barry, who knows, but I said my Huawei Wi-Fi packed up on Friday,it doesn't even search, I turn it on the two lights are green, but the internet light doesn't flash as it normally does to search and then it turns off. Mine was reset a couple of weeks back when I had the 'three' trouble, but I will try doing that again, however like you Jean, I have had it a few years maybe 3 and it's been good until now, just the Sims I've had so far have let me down.

I did nothing with it, just turned it on to test and it works again.
I can't find another like this one, its called a Play and its a bit of a nuisance sometimes because when I open the Kindle it asks me to sign in to play (the wifi has a ! through it) and I don't know what play is or how to sign in then there is a strip with an arrow at the top of the Kindle and I press that and hey who's ya father I'm in with a proper signal

Your solution worked Jan - there's a reset button inside the case. I was passing a 3 shop today n took it in - she thought because it was so old (2013) maybe it couldn't handle the newer technology. But it seems to be OK at the moment, tho a bit slow. The signal icon is still red but I'm able to connect OK.

I can't take the praise for that Jean, it was Glandwr who suggested a reset, I just said I had done one a few weeks ago.

Oops! All hail to Glandwr!

Actually the mifi is so slow I'm thinking I'll get a new one anyway - if I knew it would make the difference.

Any recommendations?

If you have a tech savvy friend or relative Jean it is quite possible that there is an updated version of firmware (the program that works it) for your device that could speed it up and save on expense. They are usually free to download.
