Thanks for all this chaps, any one else out there use samba ?
It does tick some boxes for the odd email or casual surfing and of course checking MHF !
Can't be any worse than Vodafone when away from home or a shopping mall to get a signal. BT and all their wi fi coverage also leave a lot to be desired to when out of the house .
Interesting to se no one supporting or suggesting the campsite wi fi options yet.

iPads are not locked to individual networks. You can change the SIM to change networks.

Hi Chris,

Just picked up on this thread.

I use Samba; there was an offer code (now expired sadly) which gave you the SIM card for £1 delivered.

As it seemed a no-brainer, I bought three. One is in my son's iPad and the other two I use - one in my iPad and one in a Mi-Fi.

I have accumulated about 2.5GB on one account and 5.5GB on the other one. I just have adverts playing in the background when I think to, and it soon builds up as I don't use the mobile data that often. Samba have double-data weekends quite often (sometimes even triple!), so it makes sense to grab the extra while you can.

The really useful aspect as far as I am concerned, is that the free data credit that you bank does not expire. You can top up with cash, but that credit expires after 30 days (you'd have thought it worked the other way round).

Even at a fiver for a SIM, there's not a lot to lose.

Thank Steve , we both have Samba cards now and have been successful in getting wi fi in Yorkshire, Sussex , Derbyshire , and the New Forest . Fingers crossed they get a link to a continental provider soon then Vodafone's special customer deal will be well and truly seen off.
Been recommending Samba to all, it's simple and brilliant . Let's just hope the cyberworld don't hack into it or what ever they do to cause it to close, or misuse by the great British public.
Thanks for taking the time to write.
Chris.

I tried Samba but my computer only runs Explorer and you can watch the adds but it does not add to your credits

Ray.

The FSA formerly SIB & PIA licensed a twice convicted fraudster to handle our life“s savings. Guess what? He robbed us of £750,000. So they changed their name again to the FCA.
